So I was still listening through past the 19:50 mark and thought I was about to hear a "chair squeak!"<br><br>You guys did a great job on this album. I would only share that I remember this album (which I ALSO love!) to have have been such a sonically beautiful one. It came out around a time when the quality of home stereos was advancing in many homes and bedrooms. But, more importantly, the stereos that were appearing in new cars let the audio of some of the stereo FM radio broadcasts really show their stuff. Captain Fantastic sounded amazing. So much creativity in the arrangements and musicianship. The recording was wonderful. And the Elton John Band of Davey Johnstone, Dee Murray, Nigel Olson, and Ray Cooper (with the production of Gus Dudgeon) is what THAT was all about.

I recently painted Knopfler, writing a post about the music that come before the game changed: http://vinylart.blogspot.com/2009/04/dont-let-it-fade-like-stonewashed-jeans.html

I think the ability to download individual songs is creating a void, a longing among humans. That's why vinyl is becoming relevant again as a medium. People want albums. They just get fooled by the mere ability to pick and choose songs. I know access to most music through torrents is all but killing the record labels, but people want, nay, need full albums to fill what listening to music used to fill.

Peace.

Wow! I never even realized that they were guitars! Just doing some more research on this. The third album, "Third Stage", came out like 10 years after this debut album due to court battles with the record company. Interestingly true, Brad Delp and Scholz did all the recording on this third album because the rest of the band members had long since moved on and were ensnarled in court battles with Scholz.

Oh wow! You remember Disco Demolition! That's the brainchild of Chicago radio legend Steve Dahl (who taught the "King of All Media" everything he knows), and his then colleague Garry Meier! Keith Olbermann <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8a_hBR9YuNw&feature=player_embedded" rel="nofollow">interviews Steve</a> on the 25th anniversary of the event. A movie was in the works about eight or nine years ago, then 9/11 seemed to derail that project along with countless others.
